![]() I bought an Onkyo A-10 integrated amp from a friend of mine who buys and sells audio gear. I guess the trick for me was a synergistic amp, sympathetic room, putting my prejudices to one side and running them in properly (probably took a year!). I listen to 99% rock/pop/folk both contemporary and classic. Not high end audio Nirvana, just well made good quality equipment. I run them from an Olive music server, Rotel 120 watt per channel power amp and a Leaf multi room system performs the preamp function (an Australian product). I have now had a pair of Klipsch Reference RF5's since 2002 and because I am involved in commercial audio/video these days I don't get to listen to much new product.įrom my perspective they sound terrific and they are well run in and enjoyable to listen to. My snobbery went away when the place I was working at started to import Klipsch into the Australian market. I used to rubbish and complain about Klipsch, the big JBLs and Altecs etc. Being in the audio industry since 1981 meant I was exposed to a lot of sound, both good and bad. Over the years I have built and owned many different pairs of loudspeakers.
